Cruise Sale Finder scoops up a Kiwi cruise award

The cruise industry in Australia and New Zealand is an exciting one to be a part of, with passengers numbers increasing at a rate which far outstrips any other source market. In 2014, more than one million passengers set sail from Down Under, and the numbers just keep rising.

To celebrate the booming Australasian cruise industry and those agents who keep it ticking along so well, the CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) put on a glittering awards dinner at the Star Event Centre in Sydney on the 20th of February. This annual event recognises exceptional cruise agents and agencies across Australia and New Zealand, and Cruise Republic (the company behind Cruise Sale Finder NZ) has been honoured to receive various awards over the years.

Ryan Posa, General Manager, was proud to accept the Online Cruise Agency of the Year - NZ award at this year's dinner. "We are honoured to receive this award. As an online agency, we work hard to make cruising easily accessible to New Zealanders, and it's great to be acknowledged for our efforts in that regard. Thanks to the CLIA organisation for the wonderful event."

One of our friendly consultants, Amy McMillan, was also nominated for a Rising Star Award, and Cruise Republic received a special commendation in the Network Promotion of the Year category for the CLIA Cruise Week sale.

Ryan, Amy and Kirsty enjoyed the event which was very well-executed by CLIA and some cruise industry sponsors. Australian songstress Tina Arena performed for the crowd, and the evening was hosted by Channel 7 sportscaster Hamish McLachlan.

We look forward to next year's awards, and to seeing how far the Australasian cruise industry progresses in 2016! If you'd like to be one of our cruising Kiwis, take a look at our current major cruise sales and let us find you a deal - it's what we like to do.

I have enjoyed visiting as much of the world as possible over the years. Europe and the Mediterranean are personal favourites, but there is so much to see very close to our little Australasian corner of the globe- one of my top travel experiences was snorkeling with tropical fish and turtles in New Caledonia! Cruising is a fantastic way to see it all, and we hope to make booking a cruise easier for both first-timers and old salts. From ship tips to destination news and views, we will keep you up-to-date. Happy cruising!
